Conference attendees share their thoughts on #BCCPA2022

Earlier this month, BC Care Providers Association and EngAge BC wrapped up our most successful conference to date in Whistler, B.C., with one delegate even voicing that this event was “the best BCCPA Conference in [their] 9 years” of attending. Titled Up, Up and Away, the 45th Annual Conference brought together delegates, speakers, and exhibitors from across the continuing care sector to look forward and onwards after a difficult two years.

The post-conference feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many participants emphasizing various parts of the conference as top #BCCPA2022 highlights, including:

Keynote Sessions

Countless delegates highlighted the Wednesday keynote and deep dive with Michael Kerr, Hall of Fame Business Speaker, as top highlights. Kerr ended #BCCPA2022 on a fun and light note, engaging attendees with the use of humour and offering ways to create a positive workplace culture.

Networking Events

From the open-ended responses, many participants enjoyed reconnecting and networking with colleagues, both old and new, at the various social events. The gondola ride to the Mountain Top Experience and Caresino night were two evening events that were repeatedly highlighted in the responses. Delegates also enjoyed taking the opportunity to network with vendors at the tradeshow.

Location

Year after year, Whistler has given such breathtaking and scenic views for the BCCPA Annual Conferences. In fact, 85.6% of delegates reported that they were satisfied with Whistler as the location for the conference. When asked about the conference taking place in Victoria, 79.8% of respondents said that they would attend.

Organization

Many responses also emphasized how well-organized this year’s annual conference was, especially considering the large volume of attendees. There was reportedly a good balance of informative sessions, as well as time to network and connect with colleagues.

Overall

Out of our 189 responses, overall satisfaction with and likelihood of recommending to the conference to a colleague both averaged to a solid 9/10. Like many other attendees, one mentioned that they “kept hearing that this was one of the very best long-term care events in the country and [they] can absolutely believe it.”

We thank our attendees for taking the time to respond to the post-conference survey. Your feedback is extremely invaluable to us and helps us to improve our Annual Conference every year.

Stay tuned for exciting news on #BCCPA2023.
