Service Provider

Service Provider members are made up of senior care providers under the following categories:

  • Long Term Care
  • Assisted Living
  • Independent Living*
  • Home Health

*For the purposes of membership, independent living refers to seniors’ housing where hospitality services are provided, such as meals, housekeeping, laundry and recreation activities. This definition does not refer to suites where the resident receives assisted living or care services delivered by the operator, nor does it include housing without hospitality services.

Membership benefits include exclusive access to the following:

  • Access to exclusive workshops and networking opportunities, such as the Association’s Annual Conference, Care To Chat and many more;
  • Your voice in public advocacy and government decisions and having a “seat at the table” when shaping public policy;
  • Unparalleled media and communications support;
  • Access to BCCPA’s Jobs Board;
  • Timely updates on emerging issues important to our members through regular BC Care Providers Association (BCCPA) communications, access to member support, and resources;

Annual membership fees are calculated by the number of hours/beds/suites/units operated by the provider:

  • Annual Membership Fee (Long-Term Care): $36/bed/year
  • Annual Membership Fee (Assisted Living): $28/suite/year
  • Annual Membership Fee (Independent Living): $23/suite/year
  • Annual Membership Fees (Home Health): $0.03/hour/year
    • Minimum Rate: $408/year
    • Maximum Rate: $6,120/year

Other information about membership:
  • All membership applications are subject to final review and formal approval by the BCCPA Board of Directors and are normally processed within 30 calendar days.
  • Payment by cheque or credit card is due at the time of the application.
  • An organization applying for membership is required to register all beds and suites with the Association – e.g., an organization could not register their long-term care beds, but not their independent living suites, for example. 
  • All fees paid by our members, including business information such as hours of care delivered are kept strictly confidential.
  • A corporate discount schedule is available, please connect with Cathy Szmaus, VP of Operations and Corproate Partnership, for more information.
  • Service providers with residences which are currently under construction are invited to join us as associate members ($595/year).
  • BCCPA members must abide by the organization’s Code of Ethics, available to read here.
  • Associate and commercial members are considered “non-voting members” for the purposes of BCCPA’s annual AGM.
