About EquipCare BC
EquipCare BC brings safety and quality of life items to publicly funded long-term care and assisted living operators. B.C.’s Ministry of Health awards the grant to BCCPA to develop and manage the province-wide program. The second period is now open as of April 4th, 2024.
Some examples of what operators are able to purchase include medical screening devices, slings, beds and mattresses, overbed tables, shower chairs and tubs, mobility equipment, lighting and visual aids, sensory rooms, ergonomic furniture, exercise machines, accessible buses or vans, nurse call systems, telephone systems, wandering systems, and security systems.

EquipCare BC (2023-2025) Period 2 intake is open from April 4, 2024 to February 21, 2025.
Publicly funded assisted living units and publicly funded long-term care beds in British Columbia are eligible for funding of safety and quality of life items. More information about program guidelines and eligibility can be found here. The eligible list of items is available here.

Oversight for EquipCare BC is provided by a group of industry stakeholders and government, including representatives from BCCPA, SafeCare BC, Denominational Health Association, and the Ministry of Health.
