The Association is pleased to first announce Moyra Cameron as winner of the 2023 BC Care Provider of the Year in Assisted Living.

Moyra has been an extraordinary member of Hallmark on the Park (Baptist Housing) for ten years, taking on multiple roles within the assisted living community. Her roles include being a bus driver, as well as taking casual positions as activity support, concierge, and dining assistant.

Of her many roles, Moyra’s passion lies in operating the Hallmark bus in which she provides essential shuttle services for residents. On a weekly basis, she operates the bus to take residents to recreational outings like shopping, dining, and entertainment. Twice a week, Moyra diligently drives a shuttle service around the local community to conveniently bring residents to their appointments, to visit their spouses in long-term care and to go on shopping trips. Moyra takes pride in fostering residents’ independence, allowing them, with her support, to navigate the community with confidence.

In the activities department, Moyra organizes various meaningful events for residents. With her exceptional crafting skills, Moyra conducts classes, such as card making, to share her talents and create engaging experiences for the residents. She prevents loneliness by organizing games and gatherings, cultivating lasting friendships. Investing time in building relationships with residents and getting to know them, Moyra personalizes her attention and care to meet the personal needs of residents. Her deep understanding of residents fosters a welcoming and inclusive environment for all to participate.

Moyra is approachable, reliable, and caring.  She loves the residents and is a willing and eager team player. We are thankful she has dedicated so many years to Hallmark, its team, and its residents.”

Regardless of the role, Moyra brings compassion and care to residents, knowing their specific preferences and needs. She is committed to always lending a helping hand whenever needed to ensure the wellbeing and enjoyment of residents in the Hallmark community.
