BCCPA member Haven Hill Retirement Centre has partnered with Sprott Shaw College to offer health care assistant training at no cost for up to 16 participants. Along with quality education, successful students will be offered employment by the Penticton care home once they have completed the program.

“We are incredibly thankful to have received a generous grant from WorkBC, which will make this program possible,” says Jolene Gagne, Care Manager, Haven Hill Care Center. “We look forward to welcoming the successful candidates into our Heath Care Aide Program, and once their course is complete, inviting them to join the Haven Hill team.”

This program is taking place in an area of the province which has been particularly hard hit by the health human resource crisis affecting seniors’ care providers.
