In the Kansas City Zoo, the penguins were getting lonely because weren’t seeing people because the closure due to covid virus. So their keepers arranged for a tour of the Museum of Art. They wandered by master artworks and loved the portraits the most. What a cute story. – Sidney, Victoria

Hi, I hope you are doing well. I know it is a tough time for everyone during this pandemic, I just wanted to let you know to stay safe and stay healthy.

Good morning — I just watched a video on Facebook. There is an elephant refuse for sick or injured animals in Africa. A kind man wanted to play music for them. He plays slow classical music for the older ones. And fast upbeat music for the young ones. They sway and dance. What a kind thing to do. – Sidney, Victoria

It is yearbook time again. A young girl who has epilepsy has a pet dog who is trained to detect her episodes before they happen so that she can sit or lie down so she doesn’t fall and hurt herself. The labrodoodle got its own picture beside her in the yearbook. How sweet. – Sidney, Victoria

Hi, I am an 8-year-old girl from Port Coquitlam. I have been passing time going on bike rides and drawing. And doing school work. What have you been doing? I also have an older brother and sister, they have also been doing school. I hope someone is keeping you company. Our house is usually loud because there are 3 kids and 2 parents. And I hope you will be able to go out for a walk. And hopefully, quarantine will be over soon. Stay safe and stay healthy.

Hello, my name is Nathan and I am 10 years old. I have been out of school since March because of the pandemic going on right now. Sometimes it gets really tough being at home all the time as you might already know as I am sure you are not able to go anywhere either. Things that I do at home to keep busy would be doing my schoolwork, playing video games, playing football, watching Netflix, going to the park with my uncle and playing bhttps://bccare.ca/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/medcare-img22.jpgton in the yard with my brother. I know it must be difficult for you during these uncertain times so I hope you find the strength to pull through healthier than ever. I will keep you all in my prayers.

Matthew McConaughey, the famous actor, and his wife are driving all around their home state of Texas. They are delivering over 100,000 masks to hospitals and care homes that need them. What a great guy. – Sidney, Victoria

People are missing going to concerts so musicians are playing in unusual ways. Some are showing up on the computer — a whole symphony orchestra playing for free. Some are playing outside their own homes and neighbours gather to listen. Some are hiring out to play in a different neighbourhood — maybe to celebrate a birthday. Music is uplifting and it is being shared. How great is that? – Sidney, Victoria

During quarantine, John Krasinsky, a tv and movie actor, has started something on facebook called Some Good News. He posts videos and tells stories of good things people are doing all over the world. Listeners sent in funny drawings of him. Now he is selling the images on masks. The artists donated the art. He will donate all the profits to the charity of your choice. And Starbucks will match the money up to 1 million dollars. What a great idea. – Sidney, Victoria

Just read a wonderful story about an industrial engineer in North America. He figures out how to make prosthetic hands and arms with a 3D printer and donates them to poor people for free. He first started on a trip to Kenya, now he does it around the world. He is also teaching children to make the hands and arms so that they can continue his work. What a wonderful guy. There are so many good people in the world. – Sidney, Victoria

Hello I hope you’re having a great day and if it isn’t going as great, that’s fine just focus on the positive side. Hope you’re doing well anyways. Take care.

Beautiful sunny day here in Victoria. Hope you have some sunshine this week too. Wanted to share a lovely story about a mating pair of crows. They have been together for 12 years. Her beak was broken 8 years ago in a car collision. But the male crow love her and looks after her — feeding her everyday. They have babies every year and she is a good mom. The entire family flock look after her. Isn’t that a wonderful example of love? – Sidney, Victoria

A graduate student at Georgia Tech, the son of 2 paramedics, has invented a new face shield for front line workers. It can last for months with frequent disinfecting. 2 million masks have been created from his design. What a great guy doing great things. – Sidney, Victoria

Just read a great story about a business man and his wife donating $1 million dollars towards tuition for Spelman College in the USA. Frank and Laura Baker have paid off the tuition for 50 black women graduates. The motto of the school is ‘A Choice to Change the World.” They only ask that the students pay it forward in the future. What a great story. – Sidney, Victoria

I just saw the artwork of Silvio Irilli in Italy. He paints the walls, cupboards, ceilings of a hospital for kids. Magical murals abound with submarines, dolphins, turtles, dragons, dancers, cartoons. All kinds of fun and happy images of animals and flowers and trees. What a wonderful way to help children. – Sidney, Victoria
