Everyday B.C.’s seniors care providers engage in challenging and inspiring work to ensure the quality of life for older adults. The BC Care Providers Association (BCCPA) proudly celebrates the exceptional passion and commitment of individuals who provide the best care possible.
Our annual BC Care Awards ceremony will be held on February 28th, 2023 at the Fairmont Empress in Victoria. The Minister of Health will be invited to present the awards and all Members of the Legislative Assembly will be invited to attend, along with BCCPA member organizations and stakeholders.
Categories
Awards are handed out in the following categories:
BC Care Provider of the Year: Awarded to a care provider or support worker in the home health, assisted living, and long-term care sectors employed by one of our members who has demonstrated a commitment to quality, compassion, and excellence in delivering and/or supporting the delivery of care to one or more of our residents and/or clients.
Family Champion: Recognizes the significant role of families in the care and comfort of seniors.
Ed Helfrich Long Service Excellence Award: Awarded to a member owner/operator or a member employee/contractor who has a 15+ year industry track record of developing and delivering quality care for individuals in care.
Prizes
Each award recipient will receive the following:
- Travel expenses to Victoria and two nights accommodation at the Fairmont Empress Hotel
- Engraved crystal heart trophy
- Award certificate
- Profile and recognition on the BC Care Providers Association website
- Occupational Health and Safety Refresher course for winner’s representing organization
- May be asked to participate in our Delegate Day and meet with elected officials at the BC Legislature
All nominees will receive:

- Profile and recognition on the BC Care Providers Association website
Eligibility
Nominees must work for a BC Care Provider Association member organization. The Family Champion nominee must receive care from a BC Care Provider Association member organization.
Nominate
Member organizations are encouraged to elicit nominations from their staff. Management will review and submit one nomination per site using the online form linked below.
Nominations are now closed. Winners will be announced January 2023.
