BC Care Providers Association and EngAge BC are excited to announce the newest members of our team.
Jamie Lozano, Andrea Mameri and Jessica Wang will be joining us to bring their skills and expertise to help support the seniors living and continuing care sector.
Jamie Lozano began her role as the Media and Communications Specialist last week. She recently graduated with a degree in Sociology, minor in Political Science, from the University of British Columbia. Prior to joining the team, Jamie worked with UBC Open Educational Resources to develop accessible communication resources for STEM students. Jamie also volunteered in long-term care at Mount St. Joseph Hospital where she facilitated activities to help enrich seniors’ daily routines. From this and her studies, she brings a passion for making our system better for BC’s seniors.
Andrea Mameri will be the new Event and Administration Coordinator starting this week. Andrea holds a Bachelor of Arts (Sociology) from the University of British Columbia and a Public Relations Certificate from Simon Fraser University. Andrea has previously worked in catering sales and membership https://bccare.ca/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/medcare-img22.jpgistration with the Terminal City Club, in events with the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society, and managed marketing initiatives for local real estate company.
Jessica Wang will be joining the team as a Policy and Research Assistant for a co-op term. Jessica is currently completing her Bachelor of Science degree in the faculty of Health Sciences. She previously worked as a Research Assistant at the UBC Department of Emergency Medicine and as a volunteer at the Richmond Hospital Emergency Department. In her studies and research, she has focused on the Canadian Health Care system and has previously looked at the impacts of COVID-19 on long-term care homes.
Jamie will report to Mike Klassen, Vice President of Public Affairs, while Andrea will report to Cathy Szmaus, Vice President of Operations and Corporate Partnerships. Jessica will report to Lara Croll, Director of Policy, Partnerships and Workforce Development.
