Broadmead Care has an exceptional opportunity to join our Leadership Team as the Director, Veterans Memorial Lodge. Veterans Memorial Lodge is a 229 bed residential care facility with 115 priority access beds for veterans, 110 beds for seniors in the community and 4 respite care beds for veterans. Veterans Memorial Lodge is also responsible for two large Adult Day Programs.

Reporting to the Vice President of Residential and Community Programs, the Director works closely with the Medical Staff, Care Managers and an interdisciplinary team, and is responsible for the leadership, planning, coordination, supervision, and evaluation of all clinical programs and services provided by Broadmead Care at Veterans Memorial Lodge. Responsibilities include leading a skilled management team in the day-to-day coordination and supervision of clinical program delivery; clinical program innovation and development, evaluation and education; hiring and performance management of key Team Members; and accreditation and quality improvement. The Director implements the strategies, goals, and policies of the organization within the envisioned future of Broadmead Care, and ensures compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and regulations. The Director provides leadership, vision, direction, support, motivation, and oversight to all staff at Veterans Memorial Lodge and fosters a culture of safety, caring, and teamwork. This role will appeal to leaders who like to hold themselves accountable and drive change.

Candidates would usually be a Registered Nurse (RN), eligible for registration with CRNBC and preferably have a Master’s Degree in Nursing or a related healthcare leadership discipline. Successful completion of a recognized course or certification relevant to Health Care Administration and/or Gerontological Nursing would also be an asset. Candidates should have a minimum of five years of progressively responsible leadership roles in a unionized, multi-site healthcare environment, a strong clinical background in senior’s care, and the ability to communicate effectively with residents, clients, families, volunteers, staff, senior executives, and external agencies. Candidates must also have a strong working knowledge of legislation, regulations, and collective agreements.
