BC Care Providers Association has conducted an exhaustive review of 120 applications covering the purchase of 3,024 items as part of the SSQIP (Seniors Safety Quality Improvement Program). With that process now complete, we are excited to begin notifying all of the applicants regarding the status of their grant request beginning this week.
In a few cases applicants be required to provide additional information on their application in order to ensure it aligns with SSQIP’s five guiding principles recommended by our Advisory Committee. This includes working to identify measurable outcomes that can be achieved as a result of the SSQIP investment.
Next steps…
The receipt of a confirmation letter authorizes care homes to begin making purchases for the approved items. The funding letter will identify a due date to make purchases, implement the items and submit receipts as proof of purchase. Reimbursement will be completed once the receipts are submitted to BCCPA staff. If you require an extension on the due date beyond what is identified in the letter, please be sure to contact BCCPA Programs as indicated on the letter.
“If you missed the the second application period, you still have plenty of time to have your request considered,” says Snezana Ristovski, Director of Programs. “SSQIP funding has been secured through to the end of September 2019 and there will be at least one more open application period by mid-2019.”
We would like to thank the SSQIP Advisory Committee for their support in helping establish this important program.
