It is with great pleasure that we announce the highly successful launch of the Diploma in Gerontology program this past September. The program has attracted students from a diverse spectrum including current Health Care Aides, Community Program Directors employed in the community-based seniors’ services sector, and individuals pursuing a new career in social services working with older adults.
This interdisciplinary program prepares students for a rewarding career working with older adults (and their families in some instances) who wish to age in place, as well as in the dynamic and expanding community-based seniors’ services sector providing leadership, support services, advocacy, education, information and referral to needed resources, leisure and recreation, as well as health promotion and prevention guidance to avoid isolation and loneliness.
The program can be taken on a full or part-time basis.
