In response to a report released April 7th, 2015 by Isobel Mackenzie, BC’s Seniors Advocate, entitled Placement, Drugs and Therapy … We Can Do Better, the BC Care Providers Association (BCCPA) is re-affirming its commitment to continue to reduce the use of unnecessary medications particularly the over use of anti-psychotics in care homes. Reducing the use of unnecessary medications, including anti-psychotics, has been a priority as significant reductions have already occurred in BC as outlined in the Seniors Advocate report.
