About EquipCare BC Climate Action
EquipCare BC brings safety and quality of life items to publicly funded long-term care and assisted living operators. B.C.’s Ministry of Health is awarding an additional $6 million grant to BCCPA to mitigate the impacts of climate change on seniors and their caregivers. The application period opens June 17th, 2024 and closes September 19th, 2025.
Some examples of what operators are able to purchase include equipment addressing air quality, temperature controls, water quality, emergency management preparation, and energy reduction measures. Some examples under these categories include HEPA air purification systems, air conditioners, UV window films, emergency management kits and supplies, generators, heat island reduction, EV charging stations, and solar rooftops.

EquipCare BC Climate Action (2024-2025) is open from June 17, 2024 to September 19, 2025.
Publicly funded assisted living units and publicly funded long-term care beds in British Columbia are eligible for funding of safety and quality of life items. More information about program guidelines and eligibility can be found here. The eligible list of items is available here.

Oversight for EquipCare BC is provided by a group of industry stakeholders and government, including representatives from BCCPA, SafeCare BC, Denominational Health Association, and the Ministry of Health.
