Train and retain your staff with the Supportive Care Assistant (SCA) program

Upskill and retain your non-clinical staff through VCC’s fully funded Supportive Care Assistant (SCA) Program

Your staff may be eligible to participate in the Supportive Care Assistant (SCA) program, offered by Vancouver Community College (VCC) in collaboration with BCCPA.

This tuition-free, micro-credential program provides training for participants to take on non-clinical work within healthcare. Participants complete 6 weeks of online training and then a 280-hour paid work placement which can be completed at your organization. The program starts Sept 6, 2022.

As an employer, you are eligible to receive up a $5000 wage subsidy for each person who completes their work placement hours at your organization. Additionally, this program provides a $5000 stipend to participants who may want to take the Health Care Assistant (HCA) program after they complete the SCA program.

For more information, please attend one of VCC’s upcoming information sessions on July 20 or Aug 3. For more information, please contact Lina Sehgal at lsehgal@vcc.ca.
