BCCPA & EngAge BC to provide free “special-memberships” during COVID-19

Citing the pandemic crisis as a motivator for the seniors care and retirement living sector to work collaboratively, BC Care Providers Association (BCCPA) and EngAge BC are offering all non-member organizations providing long-term care, assisted living, home health and independent living a free membership for the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This limited-time free membership will include access to sections of the associations’ members-only online portal, exclusive member updates and support services.

“COVID-19 is the biggest challenge to ever face the sector—full stop,” says Daniel Fontaine, CEO, BCCPA and EngAge BC. “As B.C.’s leading voice for seniors’ care and retirement living, we want to ensure that all operators have access to clear, consistent and time-sensitive communication such as we have been providing members for the past few weeks.”

BCCPA and EngAge BC have been in regular communication with multiple levels of government and other agencies on behalf of members, in order to ensure they have the support needed during the coronavirus epidemic. Updates on these discussions, along with media-clips and other developments are made available through our members-only online portal (“M365”).

Traditionally, M365 has been a “member-only” resource, used to share information and communicate with the sector in an expedient and secure way. By temporarily providing non-members with access to the portal, BCCPA and EngAge BC will assist any B.C. organization offering independent living, assisted living, home health and long-term care, during this uncertain time.

Member updates, including advanced notice on member town hall teleconferences, are also sent by email daily.

“Temporarily extending our membership benefits to non-members is one thing our association can do to support a much-needed coordinated approach to the pandemic,” adds Fontaine. “We hope that this will help non-members focus less on making sense of policy and more on supporting seniors during this uncertain time.”

Regular public updates can also be found on BCCPA’s website, which includes a FAQ and fillable contact form, which can be used to share information anonymously.

To apply for the free “special-membership” please complete the form found here. You will be notified with further instructions in 2-3 business days.
