BCCPA listening tour on A.L. & home care kicks off in Kelowna, Sept 7th

B.C. has one of the oldest populations in Canada, with seniors expected to make up 25 per cent of the population by 2036.

Rebecca Morris, BCCPA Manager Public Affairs

We understand how home care and assisted living providers play a vital role in supporting B.C. seniors, by helping them live as independently as they can, for as long as possible. As part of our expanding commitment to the issues and opportunities facing this growing area in continuing care, the BCCPA recently hired Rebecca Morris, our new Manager of Public Affairs, Home Care and Assisted Living (A.L.).

So we can better understand the issues that are facing A.L. and home care providers, the BCCPA is kicking off a new listening tour in downtown Kelowna next Thursday, September 7th to hear from providers across the province. The listening sessions are open to both member and non-member care providers.

“As BC Care continues to increase our efforts in these important areas, it is critical that we spend time checking in with the people who are responsible for ensuring that B.C.’s seniors receive quality home care and assisted living support,” says Mike Klassen, VP Communications & Stakeholder Relations. “We are looking forward to taking what we hear, and using that feedback to inform our research and advocacy efforts.”

Those with questions about the sessions can contact Rebecca at rebecca@bccare.ca. Be sure to register in advance by clicking the links below as space is limited.
