Below is a message from BC Care Providers Association’s (BCCPA) new CEO, Mary Polak.

Dear Members,

I am honoured to introduce myself as the new CEO of BCCPA. With my background in government and public affairs, I am eager to bring my experience in policy development and stakeholder engagement to our Association. I am confident this will further support the advancement of our important advocacy efforts.
Our sector stands at a pivotal juncture. We are facing an increasing senior population together with complex challenges that demand immediate, collaborative, and innovative solutions. Issues such as the Residential Tenancy Act, Long-Term Care Funding Model, physician shortages, health human resources, and the Assisted Living Model significantly impact seniors across the province.
In my previous roles, I have experienced strong, trusting relationships with government officials and agencies. I intend to leverage these to foster collaboration as we address these critical issues. By working together with our Board of Directors, members, BCCPA staff, stakeholders, and policymakers, I believe we can successfully advocate for policies that will support our seniors, to age with dignity in the setting of their choice.
Our shared goals are to enhance the quality of care for seniors, support our workforce, and ensure the sustainability of our sector.
I look forward to engaging with you, listening to your insights, and working collectively to shape a future where seniors in British Columbia receive the high-quality living, wellness and care they deserve.
Please feel free to reach out to me at any time. We are here to help!
Sincerely,
Mary Polak
