BC Care Providers Association (BCCPA) is partnering with Westbridge Group to conduct a province-wide survey on the private-pay independent living housing market in B.C. This initiative aims to fill the data gap left by the discontinuation of the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation’s (CMHC) seniors housing survey by collecting up-to-date occupancy and rent information from operators across the province.

   2. If possible, please provide the average quoted rent per rentable square foot by suite type or for all suites combined.

Please note:

1. Non-disclosure commitment:  Westbridge Group is the data custodian and will not, under any circumstances, disclose the information provided by individual survey participants.
2. Survey results will be aggregated into the same geographical regions as previously included in the CMHC survey, but with the caveat that a survey region must include multiple operators to protect the confidentiality of individual operator data.
3. More than one reporting option is available as we try to balance data quality with the reporting burden for the operator.
4. Survey is a point-in-time snapshot, so please provide data for June 2025 if possible. However, we will accept any other recent month.
5. Occupancy data objective: to provide a weighted average occupancy rate by market area, we require, at minimum, your independent living unit count, and a count of how many of those suites are occupied, by property.
6. Quoted rent data objective: to provide monthly IL rent data per suite type and monthly rent per rentable square foot (size excludes balconies).
7. At your discretion, a rent roll (in Excel format) that contains the relevant information can be provided instead of, or in addition to, completing the survey questions. That rent roll must include quoted monthly rents and sizes for each suite. This option may be especially expedient for operators with multiple locations.
