June 13, 2025, is National Long-Term Care Day. As a proud member of the Canadian Association of Long-Term Care (CALTC), BC Care Providers Association (BCCPA) honours the over 200,000 Canadians in long-term care homes and their contributions to our society. We also celebrate the dedication of those who work, volunteer, and provide caregiving every day.

Today is also a call to action, a reminder of the ongoing work needed to strengthen and sustain long-term care in Canada. With a rapidly aging population, BCCPA continues to advocate for a continuous Request for Proposal (RFP) model to accelerate the development of 5,000 new long-term care beds by 2028. As we reflect on the important contributions of those who live and work in long-term care, we reaffirm our commitment to advancing policies that will support and grow the sector for years to come.

At BCCPA, we proudly represent over 500 members across the province, including long-term care providers, and advocate on their behalf at all levels of government. We thank the residents, staff, and volunteers who help make long-term care communities vibrant, supportive places that so many call home.
