Health Emergency Management BC’s Director, Sue Gardner Clark, joins Care to Chat on climate change preparedness in Kelowna

Join us for the very first Care to Chat event in Kelowna! With the warm summer months quickly approaching, our panel of experts will be coming together for a timely conversation on climate change and emergency preparedness in long-term care and assisted living. We will be joined by many experts like Sue Gardner Clark, Director at Health Emergency Management BC (HEMBC), Interior, with Provincial Health Services Authority.

Sue has had many leadership roles in the health sector across the globe. For eighteen and a half years, Sue served in the Royal Navy as a Nursing Officer, working in a variety of clinical roles as a nurse practitioner and in leadership positions both in the UK and aboard. She served in the Royal Navy as a Nursing Officer (Lt Cdr) for 18 half years where she worked in a variety of clinical roles as a nurse practitioner and leadership positions both in the UK and abroad. She has notably been deployed on board ship in and in Afghanistan several times where she managed the emergency room in Camp Bastion.

Having developed a wealth of managerial and leadership skills in a multitude of senior management roles, Sue moved to Canada in January 2016 and joined the Interior Health Royal Inland Hospital team as a Health Service Director.

After nearly 7 years in the Health Services Director role, Sue joined the HEMBC team in PHSA as the Director for the team supporting Interior Health. She has an MSc in Health Science, a Pg Dip in emergency planning and a PGCE in education.
