EquipCare BC update: Application period 2 closed & audit site visit highlights

The second application intake for EquipCare BC is now closed. We extend our gratitude to grant recipients who welcomed us for audit site visits, showcasing the impact of their funded equipment on staff and seniors. These visits highlight how grant funding enhances services and care beyond just equipment purchases.

If you’d like to schedule an audit site visit or share your success stories, please reach out to Snezana Ristovski, Sr. Director of Programs and Org. Development.

Audit Site Visit Highlights

Hawthorne Seniors Care Community

CEO Elissa Gamble shared the transformative impact of their EquipCare BC funded Tovertafel, fostering resident engagement through interactive activities. Additionally, new laundry machines and refrigerator have significantly improved daily operations.

Gateway Assisted Living

Owner and Operator Imrana Gehlan expressed how EquipCare BC was a game changer for Gateway Assisted Living. Their upgrades included ventilation and AC systems, boilers, a steamer cooker, and telecommunication improvements for their telephone system updates.

Request for New EquipCare BC Funding Agreement

A proposal for a new EquipCare BC funding agreement was submitted in December 2024, with a decision expected in April 2025. Thank you to all who provided support letters and completed the satisfaction survey—achieving an outstanding 100% satisfaction rating.

As renewed funding is not guaranteed, we advise publicly funded long-term care and assisted living operators to assess their equipment needs but refrain from making purchases until we receive further direction for 2025.

We appreciate your continued support and look forward to sharing updates as they become available.
