Hiromi Thurier – Care Professional, Home Instead (North Shore/Vancouver)
Hiromi, originally from Japan, brings over six years of nursing experience to her caregiving, with a particular expertise in dementia care. Known for her calm, reassuring presence, Hiromi excels in meeting both the medical and emotional needs of her clients. She builds strong, trusting relationships, often becoming a requested caregiver due to her compassionate approach. Hiromi’s reliability and dedication are unmatched—she never missed a shift, even during personal challenges.
Hiromi goes above and beyond in her care, especially with clients like Syoko, a fellow Japanese speaker. Hiromi’s ability to communicate in Japanese allows Syoko to express herself fully, providing comfort and a sense of cultural connection. They enjoy outings together, and Hiromi helps Syoko stay connected with her family abroad. This personal touch enriches Syoko’s emotional well-being, illustrating Hiromi’s commitment to enhancing her clients’ quality of life, both physically and socially. Syoko’s family is deeply grateful for Hiromi’s efforts.

She often takes the initiative to help with tasks beyond her core duties, such as organizing client’s belongings. Her work ethic and compassionate nature have earned her glowing feedback from both clients and colleagues. One client even requested to reinstate services with Jossie after a hospital stay. Jossie’s unwavering dedication to her clients and willingness to help wherever needed make her an invaluable team member.
