With final voting day this Saturday, October 19th, BC Care Providers Association (BCCPA) encourages all British Columbians to exercise their right to vote in this provincial election.
Why your vote matters
This provincial election is a crucial one for seniors’ care in B.C. With one in five British Columbians over the age of 65 by 2036, the decisions we make now will shape the future of our older adults and their well-being.
Advocate for seniors’ care
We encourage you to utilize our All Hands-on-Deck materials to guide you in advocating in change in seniors’ care issues, bringing them to the forefront of political parties.
Some key areas to consider include:
- Implementing an ‘aging in the right place’ tax credit;
- Building 5,000 new long-term care beds by 2028;
- Implementing a continuous request for proposal (RFP) model for long-term care providers; and
- Creating a redevelopment fund for aging long-term care infrastructure.
