Roseanne always knew that she wanted to do more to help others through her work, but her lack of training added an extra barrier in obtaining this goal.
“I had the chance to [work] with some of our elderly patients at my workplace,” says Roseanne about her time as a Food Service Worker. “I felt bad when they’d ask me for help, but I was not able to do so because of my [lack of training].”
Her calling to help others deepened and one day, she came across the fully funded Health Care Assistant (HCA) Training Program.
“At first, I was so unsure to take this program because I have so much on my plate,” says Roseanne, “but I believe if you have the passion and if you really like to do something, you will always find a way no matter what.”
Roseanne speaks highly to her experience in training in the program, particularly her time during her placements.
“I’m privileged to learn from dedicated instructors and compassionate healthcare professionals who have inspired me to strive for excellence in my practice.”
“One of the most rewarding aspects of my education has been the hands-on experience gained through clinical the preceptorship placements, where I’ve had the opportunity to apply theoretical concepts in real-world healthcare settings. These experiences have not only deepened my understanding of healthcare practices but have also reinforced my passion for making a positive difference in people’s lives.”
Like all of the recent HCA Training graduates, Roseanne is excited for this new chapter in her career where she can use the knowledge gained through the program to helping others, specifically seniors.
“I am filled with gratitude for the journey I’ve undertaken and the knowledge I’ve gained throughout my studies as an HCA. As I embark on this new chapter of my career, I am confident in my ability to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others and am excited to continue learning and growing as a healthcare aide.”
