BC Care Providers Association (BCCPA) and EngAge BC are pleased to announce that applications are once again open for the Therapeutic Recreation Assistant (TRA) Training Program. This iteration of the fully funded program will be training 10 new TRAs in select communities across Vancouver Island, Sunshine Coast and Sea to Sky regions starting on August 28th, 2024.
Delivered in partnership with Stenberg College via their TRA Diploma (Gerontology Specialization) Program, the program will run over the course of 47 weeks, with 40 weeks of online theory and 7 weeks for community practice education.
Thanks to funding provided by the Government of Canada and the Province of British Columbia via the Community Workforce Response Grant (CWRG), the full cost of program tuition is covered for participants, with an additional up to $3,500 in additional participant training supports available.
