Navigating the Residential Tenancy Act in Independent Living Webinar

Join BCCPA | EngAge BC for a webinar addressing the application of the Residential Tenancy Act (RTA) in Independent Living settings. The RTA, designed to safeguard the rights of both tenants and landlords, has generated considerable confusion regarding its scope within the realm of seniors’ supportive housing and IL arrangements. Recent Residential Tenancy Board (RTB) decisions have also raised concerns, particularly regarding rent increases for IL operators.

Led by Allison Foord, Partner at Borden Ladner Gervais (BLG) LLP, this webinar offers legal insights and a standardized sample lease agreement developed by BLG. Foord will outline the issue, share case studies, and present practical solutions for IL operators.

NOTE: The information shared in the webinar does not represent an endorsement or assumption of best practices by BCCPA | EngAge BC, but rather serves as a proactive measure to assist IL operators in ensuring compliance and maintaining fiscal sustainability amidst evolving regulatory landscapes. Attendees are encouraged to seek independent legal advice, and members can directly access the sample agreement template through BLG.
