Every year, BC Care Providers Association (BCCPA) holds its Annual BC Care Awards to celebrate various individuals who exemplify exceptional dedication in caring for seniors.
Earlier this year, the Association recognized winners like Patricia Asto, a Caregiver with Hero Home Care, for her commitment to delivering the best possible care to her clients.
After coming to Canada in 2002, Patricia knew she wanted to pursue her passion for helping others and soon applied for the Health Care Assistant program. She graduated in 2008 from Vancouver Career College and quickly found a job as the primary caregiver for quadriplegic client of whom she cared for over 10 years.
Caring for people for as long as she can remember, Patricia is committed to the health and wellbeing of all of her clients. According to her managers, she is one of the most requested heroes from Hero Home Care customers. Clients know that Patricia is much more than a “caregiver,” but a friend who will inspire and leave them and their home better off than when she arrived.
Patricia proudly accepted her BC Care Provider of the Year Award in Home Health from B.C. Minister of Health, Adrian Dix at the ceremony at the 9th Annual BC Care Awards in February 2023, and was joined by her colleagues, friends and family, who applauded her in the crowd.
