BC Care Providers Association (BCCPA) and EngAge BC are once again proud to celebrate the important work of those providing the best quality of care to older adults across B.C.
Last year, the Association awarded the 2023 BC Care Provider of the Year Award in Assisted Living to Cathy Baysic, a Recreation Coordinator at Courtyard Terrance Seniors Community (Park Place).
Described as resident-centered, residents constantly describe how committed Cathy is to her service. Cathy strives to ensure that everyone has the chance to participate in activities at Courtyard, regardless of their physical ability level.
Cathy was commended for helping residents remain as independent as possible. She works with them to keep doing activities that they may have thought were not possible anymore and goes the extra mile to get spirits up, especially through the pandemic.
Earlier this year, Cathy had the opportunity to accept her award at the 9th Annual BC Care Awards at the Fairmont Empress in Victoria, B.C. Onstage, B.C. Minister of Health, Adrian Dix, presented the award to Cathy, who shared some inspiring remarks on working with seniors.
