Conference Keynote features international story telling guru, Bill Baker

BC Care Providers Association (BCCPA) is thrilled to be bringing participants back together after two difficult years. The 45th Annual BCCPA 2022 Conference titled Up, Up and Away returns to the Fairmont Chateau Whistler on June 5 to 8th, 2022. The closing keynote What Stories Should We Take Forward will feature Bill Baker, Principal, BB&Co Strategic Storytelling.

According to Bill, since he first learned to talk, he has been telling stories: to grandparents, teachers, bus drivers, that nice lady at the grocery store… anyone who would listen. Early on, Bill recognized the profound impact that stories had on people, and how different stories would generate different responses. This penchant for storytelling continued into his professional career.

Based in Vancouver, BB&Co is a boutique strategic storytelling consultancy that works with clients all over the world, helping them uncover the unique story of their brand or branded initiative and develop their leaders. Other panelists will include Ron Pike, EngAge BC Chair and CEO Elim Village, Jennifer Lyle, CEO, Alzheimer Society of B.C., Stasia Hartley, Interim Regional Director, B.C., Bayshore Home Health, and Salimah Walji-Shivji, COO & Genral Counsel, AgeCare – Communities of Care & Wellness.

The session will look at questions such as:

  • What pandemic experiences have changed the way you look at the world, Canada or BC; at the care you provide; at the people you care for?
  • What positive impact can the learnings from those experiences have on your future, individually and collectively?
  • How much should things go “back to normal” and how much should they change or evolve permanently because of what you/we have experienced and learned?

The closing keynote will take place on Wednesday, June 8th from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM in the Macdonald Ballroom.
