The BCCPA board recognizes the contributions to industry leaders Debra Hauptman and Lenore Pickering, who are retiring this year
On June 24th the BCCPA board met for its annual strategic planning retreat, which they conducted in-person for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic. The retreat – which was enlivened with a “Hawaii” theme to celebrate a future where travel and movement can happen again – began with all in attendance getting a rapid antigen test to ensure no one was positive for COVID-19. During the day members of the board of directors reviewed the 2020-23 BCCPA strategic plan, which was finalized just prior to the COVID crisis. In depth discussions took place on a range of subjects relating to the goals of the association and how to best support our members.
At the conclusion of the day a small ceremony took place to recognize the contributions of two of the BCCPA board directors — Debra Hauptman, CEO Langley Lodge and Lenore Pickering, CEO Hawthorne Care Home. Each are set to retire this year (Hauptman on June 30th and Pickering in December) and have both played important roles leading committees. BCCPA board president Aly Devji thanked them both for their passion for seniors care, and for their tireless and unwavering efforts to support the association.
The board formally voted to extend both of their terms until the end of the annual general meeting taking place in the fall.
