Green and Blue – Todd Richard’s tribute to frontline healthcare workers

Music video accompanying song shot in Lower Mainland long-term care home

Burnaby, BC (April 2021) — Canadian Country singer Todd Richard has released a catchy new song titled Green and Blue, named after the different colours of scrubs worn by healthcare workers. The song is a tribute and expression of gratitude to all the frontline healthcare workers for their hard work and efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Funded in part by the BC Care Providers Association (BCCPA),  SafeCare BC, and CareCorp the music video was filmed at Willingdon Care Home in Burnaby, B.C. Richard conveys the hardships of healthcare workers and his thankfulness for their diligence through his lyrics. Throughout the video, frontline healthcare workers at Burnaby’s Willingdon Care Home show the daily grind and emotional stresses endured every day by healthcare workers during the pandemic.

“Todd Richard’s Green and Blue is like a new anthem for our weary care aides, nurses, housekeeping and food services teams, https://bccare.ca/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/medcare-img22.jpgistrators and managers who’ve been working hard to keep residents safe during the COVID crisis,” says Terry Lake, CEO of BCCPA & EngAge BC. “Like with last year’s noise-making 7pm salute, we can sing along with Todd as a tribute to their work.”

“The past year has been emotionally and physically hard, but Todd Richard’s Green and Blue can lift our spirits and serve as a reminder on how grateful we are for the women and men on the front lines in our care homes,” says Jennifer Lyle, CEO of SafeCare BC. “We are thankful to Todd and proud to have supported this work.”
