Reminder: Employer year-end HCAP hiring reporting deadline March 31, 3pm

The Health Career Access Program (HCAP) is a new approach to address labour shortages in the continuing care sector that BC Care Providers Association has supported since its inception.

As the end of fiscal 2020/21 fast approaches, the Ministry of Health have indicated to BCCPA about their need to have an up to date record of all hiring activity that has occurred through HCAP. This information is needed to support a variety of financial and planning processes over the next several weeks.

As part of the reporting obligations specified in the HCAP Employer Funding Agreement, employers must report new Health Care Support Worker hires in the HCAP Employer Portal in all cases where an offer of employment has been accepted.

It is the Ministry’s expectation that the hiring record for all participating employers be up to date no later than March 31, 2021 at 3:00 pm.

Program staff are standing by to assist employers with the portal if needed. For anyone having technical difficulty entering data into the portal, they are asked to reach out by email to HCAPInfoQuery@gov.bc.ca as soon as possible.

All operators who qualify are encouraged to take advantage of the HCAP opportunity. BCCPA and EngAge BC are continuing to work behind the scenes to ensure that the hiring process is as straightforward as possible, so job candidates can get the training they need to begin a successful career in the seniors care sector.
