Building off the success of our 2020 Virtual Conference we are very pleased to announce our next virtual conference for 2021 to be held from May 31st to June 2nd, 2021. Titled The Three Rs: Reflection, Resilience and Reinvention, this conference will focus on key themes as we look at lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic and develop a path forward for the future of the seniors care and living sector in B.C.
Reflection: We will look at the firsthand experiences of health care workers, seniors, and other stakeholders during the COVID-19 pandemic. Along with highlighting some of the major obstacles, we will showcase some of the key lessons learned from B.C., Canada, and internationally as providers and seniors managed through a very challenging time.
Resilience: We will demonstrate how providers have managed through a very difficult period, particularly as COVID-19 spread rapidly through the seniors care and living sector. We will highlight some of the successes and best practices that came to light as providers and workers demonstrated considerable leadership and courage throughout.
Reinvention: We will look at how care providers have reinvented seniors’ care and living for the better. This includes changes to staffing and training, redesigning the physical environment, implementing new Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) measures, and adopting new technologies to protect the safety and well-being of seniors and improve their quality of life.
We are seeking submissions for our concurrent session streams and invite you to submit an abstract focusing on one of the three key themes. The audience will feature owners and operators, senior managers, general managers, and https://bccare.ca/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/medcare-img22.jpgistrators, as well as other stakeholders from the long-term care, assisted living, independent living, home health, and faith-based care sectors.
All proposals will be adjudicated by the BCCPA Events and Recognition Committee (ERC). The ERC is looking for submissions that are relevant to one of the key themes, outline clear learning objectives, and share innovative ideas or practices that will improve the quality of staff or resident experience in the seniors living and care sector. Proposals must be completed using this online application process. Submissions by email or mail will not be considered.
Accepted sessions will be displayed in a 45-minute pre-recorded video format on our virtual conference platform powered by Pheedloop. Presenters will be expected to pre-record your session via a video platform and send it to BCCPA as a single MP4 file up to 1 GB. Larger files will not be supported by the platform and will not be accepted. Sessions will be available to view on the event platform for 30 days after the event.
If an abstract proposal is accepted, individuals agree to register for the conference. Conference speakers will be eligible for the discounted speaker rate of $150 and will have access to all three days of the event.
All proposals must be submitted by March 15th. No late submissions will be accepted.
