Long-term care and assisted living employers interested in the new Health Career Access Program (“HCAP”) are strongly encouraged to log on to the new applicant portal to begin screening and hiring Health Care Support Workers. This innovative program has garnered a lot of attention from across Canada and in media reports, as it provides a simple pathway for those who would like to begin a rewarding career in the continuing care sector. BCCPA has been working closely with Ministry of Health officials on HCAP since the get-go, and strongly supports this initiative.

To access the portal, employers will be required to create a personal BCeID and then request access from the BC Ministry of Health. Once logged onto the portal, employers can begin searching for local candidates by postal code (i.e., forward sortation area) and contacting applicants by phone or email.
