October 1 is National Seniors Day — a day to honour and celebrate older adults in communities across Canada.
BC Care Providers Association and EngAge BC take this opportunity to thank all of Canada’s older adults for the vital contributions they have made, and continue to make, for our country.
“In the midst of a pandemic that is disproportionately affecting our older population, it has never been more important to express our respect and appreciation for our seniors, in addition to asking how they can be better cared for in our society,” says CEO Terry Lake. “We can best demonstrate our gratitude to our seniors by ensuring that they have safe and supportive environments for them to age in comfort and with dignity.”
“On behalf of our members, who are dedicated to delivering excellent seniors’ living and wellness services every day, we wish Canada’s older adults a happy and safe National Seniors Day!”
We encourage everyone to take a moment today to acknowledge the seniors in their life. However you choose to express your gratitude – whether with a phone call to a grandparent or by running errands for an elderly neighbour – will go a long way in showing them they are valued and supported.
