COVID-19 has presented a whole new array of challenges to those providing seniors living and well options around the world. In the coming months and years, we can expect even more, from lower public confidence in our sector to lower financial ability of people to take part in it. New challenges require new approaches: changes not only in how we act within our sector but also how we get others to think and feel about it. In this engaging and enlightening keynote presentation, Strategic Storyteller Bill Baker will explain how we can use storytelling to improve the impact of our communications, connect people to ideas, and bring about meaningful change.
Since Bill first learned to talk, he has been telling stories: to grandparents, teachers, bus drivers, that nice lady at the grocery store…anyone who would listen. Early on, Bill recognized the profound impact that stories had on people, and how different stories would generate different responses. This penchant for storytelling continued into his professional career as Bill started using stories not only in his day-to-day communications but also in his strategic brand planning efforts. As these worlds of brand strategy and storytelling collided, Bill founded BB&Co Strategic Storytelling specifically to help companies and their leaders bring more meaning, focus and productivity to their work, and therefore their workforce…strategically using the power of storytelling to do so.
Bill will walk us through the same fundamentals of effective storytelling he teaches to executives and directors of Fortune 500 companies and non-profit organizations all over the world, such as Coca-Cola, Relais & Châteaux, TELUS, Prudential, Cisco, Hilton Worldwide, Travel Alberta, Pfizer, Canada Beef, The Thayer Leadership Group at West Point, Royal Botanical Gardens, the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport, Irvine Company and Vancouver Aquarium. Through his talk, we will better understand just how storytelling works, and why it works, so we can put it to work in our communications, individually and collectively.
This year’s virtual conference, COVID-19: What Set B.C. Apart, will include compelling and innovative leaders from all corners of the globe.
