#BCCPA2020 Conference Keynote: The Future of Aging

A few weeks before COVID-19 reached pandemic scale in North America, Dr. Zayna Khayat, Futurist at SE Health, along with a few SE Health colleagues published The Future of Aging. This book is a culmination of more than a year of research and discovery of several hundred ‘signals’ that suggest that almost everything we think, know and believe about aging in the future, will be nothing like it has been in the past. We are pleased to announce Dr. Khayat as a #BCCPA2020 Conference keynote speaker.

After reviewing the signals, five clear themes emerged, which are the basis for the book’s five chapters:

  1. Identity of Aging
  2. Community
  3. Healthcare Interventions
  4. Gerontechnologies
  5. The Economy

Less than four weeks after the book launch, all promotional activity surrounding the book was ground to a halt. As we begin to open societies back up, and given the disproportionate impact the pandemic has had on the aging population globally, it is timely to reflect on if/how the signals and shifts explored in the book have changed. And, what should those of us who design and deliver services, products or policies for the older population be considering as we adjust our priorities and strategies, looking forward.

Compelling and innovative leaders from all corners of the globe lead our series of keynotes, panel discussions, and webinars  at our virtual conference COVID-19: What Set B.C. Apart. We are pleased to offer delegates various ticket options with single day passes ($99) and five day passes ($399) with group discounts available. Sessions can be viewed ‘live’ or ‘on-demand.’
