Last week, it was announced that after nearly eight years as BC Care Providers Association’s CEO, Daniel Fontaine has decided to step down to take on a new role as CEO for the Métis Nation British Columbia.
Mike Klassen, who currently serves as vice-president of public affairs, will replace Fontaine on an interim basis until a permanent chief executive is selected.
BCCPA Board President Aly Devji says the search for the Association’s next CEO is underway and is expected to be completed within 90 days.
“Daniel Fontaine has been instrumental in establishing BCCPA as the leading voice of B.C.’s seniors’ care and living sector,” says Devji. “With the groundwork laid by him, the leadership of our board of directors, and the outstanding capabilities of our staff, we are well-positioned for the future.”
“We are looking for a leader with the strategic vision to take the organization to the next level—someone who will strengthen current relationships with stakeholders and forge new partnerships. Our board is looking forward to working side by side with the new CEO to ensure BCCPA and EngAge BC’s continued success and shape a future for seniors’ care where every British Columbian ages with confidence, respect, and dignity,” Devji adds.
To assist with the CEO selection process, BCCPA has sought the expertise of Vancouver’s PFM Executive Search who will be working with the board to develop a clear and effective transition plan.
“PFM Executive Search is honoured and excited to be partnering with the BC Care Providers to find the right leader to take the Association into its next phase of growth and development,” says Allison Rzen, Partner at PFM Executive Search.
“This is a tremendous chance for someone to inherit a very healthy organization and influence significant changes in the sector that will benefit members and seniors for years to come,” she adds.
