BC Care Providers Association recently launched the #TellThemYouCare campaign, inviting the public to send greetings, including handwritten notes, videos and drawings, to seniors receiving home care and those living in long-term care, assisted and independent living settings.
Since April 17th, the #TellThemYouCare web portal has received over 400 submissions from British Columbians from all corners of the province!
“We’re heartened by the overwhelming response to the campaign,” says BCCPA CEO Daniel Fontaine. “People are embracing the opportunity to reach out to seniors during these challenging times by sending messages that are thoughtful, heartfelt, and compassionate.”
The #TellThemYouCare web page, which serves as a hub for sending and uploading greetings, allows care home staff or home health support workers to directly access and share messages with seniors.
BCCPA has compiled the first round of messages, which includes photos and handwritten notes, in a print-friendly PDF. The document will be updated to add the newest messages received through the web portal over the coming weeks.
“We encourage our members to share these wonderful expressions of love and support with their residents and clients to remind them that they are loved and not forgotten. We are all in this together,” Fontaine adds.
