The Government of Canada is currently holding consultations with patients, practitioners, disability advocates, and stakeholders to help inform their legislative response to a judgment by the Superior Court of Quebec which struck down the provision in the law on medical assistance in dying (MAiD) relating to the requirement that a patient’s death be reasonably foreseeable.
An online questionnaire was launched last week aimed at gauging respondents’ views on potential amendments to Canada’s law governing medical assistance in dying.
