#Choose2Care campaign launched to attract health care aide job candidates

A new marketing campaign spearheaded by Health Match BC has launched to boost public awareness of the health care assistant (HCA) profession. “Choose2Care” is funded by the provincial government, and was developed in partnership with multiple government ministry representatives, health authorities, training college, as well as BC Care Providers Association providing ideas and input on the campaign.

The centrepiece of the campaign is a new website, Choose2Care.ca, which serves as an information resource for those exploring a career as a health care assistant. Website visitors can access articles, infographics and FAQs on how to train, register and find employment as an HCA in B.C.

“Seniors’ care is a booming industry that offers rewarding jobs with good pay and benefits,” says BCCPA CEO Daniel Fontaine. “Creating much more public awareness about these opportunities is something BCCPA has long championed, and we are pleased that this important step has been taken by the B.C. government.

“BC Care Providers Association is pleased to be invited as a partner by Health Match BC, and will help this effort to promote careers in the seniors’ care sector.”

Choose2Care.ca is supported by a province-wide advertising campaign, which includes both digital and traditional media. Advertisements are currently running on transit and in community print and digital media across B.C.
