Your vision for your care home is what sets you apart. But so often, you don’t have the time to make a vision a reality. It only takes a few moments for visitors to sense whether a space feels clean, homely and welcoming.
The key to delivering your vision is the process. Blueleaf delivers your vision using an in-house design team and project managers, from initial discussions and strategy, to design, fit-out and delivery.
Blueleaf provides every practical, effective and inspirational detail needed to create a space where life can be well-lived. Blueleaf makes your vision a reality.
This interactive workshop will discuss:
- the role of interior design professionals in care spaces, and how they can help to deliver investment returns;
- how fit-for-purpose interiors are the smartest long-term investment;
- how to identify costly missteps of poor interior design planning;
- secrets of why great care doesn’t trump the care environment;
- how to stem bleeding and reverse vacancy numbers;
- themes to incorporate in dementia environments, and myth busting color schemes.
- The workshop includes hands-on time with materials and fabrics.

Dana O’Donnell | Interior Structural Architect | Blueleaf | United Kingdom
Working in the design and construction industry for over 13 years has given me the knowledge, experience and confidence to create environments tailored to clients’ needs and budget. During my career, I have delivered many successful projects in both the residential and commercial sectors. I got involved in the healthcare sector about eight years ago. This challenging area made me realized the importance and benefits of good design in healthcare. Taking this path has given me the opportunity to improve the environment for the most vulnerable in our society. I truly enjoy it and find it very rewarding.
Joyce McClelland | Senior Interior Designer | Blueleaf | United Kingdom
With 11 years’ experience in interior design and a BA Honours degree in Fine Art, I am passionate about creating care homes that are functional, yet do not sacrifice design and comfort. Using purpose-fit materials to create safe and hygienic environments that take into account the residents’ life experiences (such as where they worked, lived and socialized) plays a crucial role in the steer of the design schemes. The environment must live up to the residents’ expectations so that they are comfortable and happy in the home. I feel designing for a care environment to be extremely rewarding and continually educational.
