#BCCPA2019 Panel: Supporting Quality of Life: Future Trends + Promising Approaches

Seniors’ care in B.C. has experienced considerable change since its inception. In the last decade alone we have seen shifts in who we care for, how we care for them, and more fundamentally, how we think about what it means to care.

The leaders who are supporting these changes have been called disruptors, innovators, or even entrepreneurs, but they all have one thing in common—they have a clear vision of what the future can look like and how today’s actions can improve quality of care and quality of life for B.C.’s seniors.

Join leaders in B.C.’s seniors care sector at BCCPA’s Annual Conference for a dynamic discussion on what tomorrow will look like. Presenters will speak to everything from why the future of care includes supports for family caregivers, why we need to work on how we support LBGTTQ+ seniors, and how to start a “megamorphosis” in long-term care to develop spaces and cultures in which we, ourselves, would like to live.

Speakers:

  • Mike Klassen, Vice President, Public Affairs, BC Care Providers Association
  • Dean Malone, Executive Director, Revera Inc.
  • Jo-Ann Tait, Director Elder Care and Palliative Services, Providence Health Care
  • Christine Zhu, Product Manager, SE Health
