We are seeking a motivated Director of Care to join our team in Vancouver, B.C.
As Director of Care, you will work with our team of managers to provide great care to the 130 residents of Braddan Private Hospital and Point Grey Private Hospital.
The Director of Care is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating and supervising resident care and well being within the Care Home.
Responsibilities:
• Facilitate and promote the interdisciplinary approach within the home through the Nursing, Dietary, Activation, Environmental Service and Administrative Departments;
• Work with the Medical Director to ensure that medical attention and records are in compliance with regulations;
• Facilitate Care Conferences and meet with residents and families to resolve problems/concerns;
• Investigate all problems, concerns and complaints
• Review resident applications for admission and assist with processing of admission and discharge papers;
• Manage the drug https://bccare.ca/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/medcare-img22.jpgistration program including https://bccare.ca/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/medcare-img22.jpgistration of medication by all registered staff;
• Manage facility staff in a pro-active manner, in conjunction with the Contracted Staffing Company, through supporting the goal setting and regular performance review;
• Ensure and monitor staff knowledge and compliance with the Resident Bill of Rights, Care Home policies and procedures and Health & Safety Standards;
• Participate in setting goals for the facility and develop action plans to achieve those goals.
• Maintain a safe, high quality living environment for residents and work environment for staff
• Comply with relevant Provincial & Federal Acts and Regulations;
• Facilitate and participate in the quality review process by Vancouver Coastal Health;
• Manage the Infection Control Program;

• Uphold and promote the organization’s values and philosophy relating particularly to ethics, morality, and integrity.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of five years of experience working as a Registered Nurse;
• A minimum of three (3) years relevant experience in long-term care;
• Current registration as a Registered Nurse;
• Completion of Nursing Unit Administrator Program, BScn, MN, or equivalent and a program in Gerontology or equivalent would be an asset;
• Current C.P.R. designation is required;
• Demonstrated leadership and communication skills;
• Possession of strong motivational, team building and time management skills;
• Must be computer literate in Microsoft Office Suite as well as PointClickCare.
