Panelists announced for #CaretoChat titled Risky Business

Some say that seniors care is a “risky business.” Indeed, mitigating risk has become central to the delivery of care. But what happens when things go wrong?

On a too frequent basis there are media reports from anywhere in the world alleging mistreatment of seniors or that elderly or frail individuals are receiving sub-standard care. These news stories often feed into a public perception that seniors are being treated poorly by the very institutions established to help them at a time they are most vulnerable.

At this Care to Chat, panelists will address issues regarding the current state of continuing care in B.C. and Canada, and how it is portrayed. The expert panel, consisting largely of senior leadership in seniors care and media, will discuss ways to manage the sector’s reputation and ensure that the good work being done is also recognized.

BCCPA is pleased to announce the following panelists:

Lois Cormack – President & CEO, Sienna Senior Living

Her previous roles include Senior Vice President of Operations at CML Healthcare, and Vice President of Clinical Support Services at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.
