Last January BC Care Providers Association launched a project to explore the development of a voluntary “Quality Assurance Designation” program for home support providers. This April BCCPA released several surveys to hear from the public and the home health care sector about quality in home support.
After hearing from almost 700 members of the public and more than 60 home support providers, BCCPA has now closed the surveys and will be working with Gevity Inc. to analyze the data and develop a quality assurance model which is embraced by B.C.’s home support sector, accessible to providers of all sizes and founded in best practices.
“We are very pleased with the number of people who took time to share their thoughts and feedback on this important issue. We want to thank everyone who participated and look forward to reporting back to members about what we’ve learned,” says Rebecca Morris, Manager, Public Affairs, Home Care & Assisted Living.
This work will continue to be supported by BCCPA’s Quality Assurance in Home Support Working Group and it is expected that this program will help companies who want to grow their reputations for delivering reliable, excellent service, and at the same help seniors and their families make informed, confident choices about private home support.
