Save the Date! VISAN update for all Island seniors care providers

Earlier this month, BC Care Providers Association announced the launch of the Vancouver Island Seniors Administrators Network, “VISAN”.  All Vancouver Island care homes, assisted living and home health providers, regardless if they are BCCPA members or not, are welcome to register for the inaugural meeting of VISAN, taking place on April 12th from 12 noon to 3 p.m. in the Program Room of the Nanaimo Museum.

“We received a great response from care providers across Vancouver Island after the announcement of VISAN, who welcome a new opportunity to collaborate to improve seniors care,” says Mike Klassen, VP of Communications and Stakeholder Relations, BCCPA. “We are happy to facilitate the inaugural VISAN gathering, and we’re looking forward to the first meeting.”

VISAN will become a forum for the exchange of information and ideas, to address common issues, and generate solutions to improve the effectiveness of continuing care service delivery. The network will be modelled on the successful Fraser Area Administrators Network (FAN).

VISAN will be comprised of voluntary representatives of continuing care providers of long-term care and assisted living within the geographic boundaries of Vancouver Island (Island Health).

“It was important that we opened this network to all Island providers, and we hope that the news about VISAN will be shared widely among those providers,” says Klassen.
