BC Care Providers Association is pleased to announce the appointment of David Hurford, CEO of Three Links Care Society, to its Board of Directors. Hurford will also represent the BCCPA on SafeCare BC’s board.
“I am excited to be joining the BCCPA board, as well as representing them at the board table for SafeCare BC. I have worked for both organizations in the past, and am a strong believer in each organization’s mandate,” says Hurford.
“Both BCCPA and SafeCare BC have shown their ability to drive positive change in the continuing care sector, and I look forward to supporting these efforts.”
David Hurford was hired as CEO of Three Links Care Society in December 2016.
He has a broad range of experience in policy development at various levels of government, including working for the Federal Ministry of Health in Ottawa for four years.
David has also worked with provincial ministries and crown corporations, media, the private sector and non-profit organizations in BC, Ontario and Manitoba. He also served as Director of Communications for BC Care Providers Association from 2009 to 2012.
As the former Executive Director of SafeCare BC, David worked with unions, WorkSafeBC, employers across the province and contracted staff to improve workplace safety for continuing care workers.
He held senior management positions at the University of British Columbia, Community Living British Columbia and the City of Vancouver.
“We are pleased to have David join the BCCPA board. We welcome his experience as strong advocate for seniors care, and his work with SafeCare BC is an important asset,” says BCCPA Board President Karen Baillie. “It will be good to have David as our liaison for SafeCare BC.”
Hurford replaces Michael Neumann on the Board of Directors. We thank Michael for his service while serving on the board for BCCPA and SafeCare BC.
At its Annual General Meeting on October 6th, BCCPA appointed four new board members.
