BCCPA announces hiring of new Policy Analyst

The BC Care Providers Association (BCCPA) is pleased to announce that Ravin Singh will become our new Policy Analyst starting on Tuesday, September 5th. Ravin was previously working in Property Management before recently spending a year and a half in the United Kingdom (UK).

During her time in the UK, Ravin was working towards a postgraduate specialization in Health Management at the University of London. While she was a student, she conducted research at the university and strategized with entrepreneurs wanting to propel their innovations into the market. In addition, Ravin has previous experience in BC’s health system working as a Coordinator for a leading private health care company as well as volunteering for Vancouver Coastal Health. Ravin is also a graduate from Simon Fraser University completing a Bachelor of Health Sciences.

“I am excited to be joining the BCCPA as well as supporting the work they are doing to improve seniors care,” says Ravin. “I have seen first-hand the importance of BC’s continuing care sector and I look forward to working with the BCCPA to help ensure that its members provide the best possible care for seniors.”

Reporting to Michael Kary, Director of Policy and Research, Ravin will support the policy related projects outlined in the BCCPA’s 2017-2020 Strategic Plan. Ravin will also be responsible for assisting with other policy related initiatives including supporting the work of the association’s Emerging Issues and Policy Committee (EIPC).

“It is great to see Ravin join the team to help assist us with some of the current and new policy issues facing the Association” says Daniel Fontaine, CEO for the BCCPA. “Ravin’s previous experience in health, including her research and analytical skills, will assist her in this role as she works to advance the goals of the BCCPA to improve seniors care and strengthen the continuing care sector.”

Ravin will also be taking over the Policy Analyst position previously filled by Lara Croll, who during her year and half in the role did an excellent job. As announced last week, Lara will be undertaking an important new role in early September with the BCCPA as its recently hired Health Human Resources (HHR) Analyst.
