Each year, the BC Health Care Awards celebrate excellence and innovation in BC’s health care community by recognizing deserving teams that are improving health care delivery in BC and individuals whose achievements and actions inspire those around them. Winners of the 2017 awards were recognized at an awards luncheon yesterday in downtown Vancouver.
The awards recognize outstanding health care employees and reward innovation and best practices within BC’s publicly funded health care providers.
This year’s award recipients included:
- A project that is integrating smartphone technology into clinical practice
- An Occupational Therapist who is known for finding solutions where others don’t see them
- A project that is improving patient safety across multiple sites
- A User Experience Architect who is helping to transform how cancer patients are treated
There are so many inspiring stories from this year’s awards. HEABC has done a fantastic job of documenting the accomplishments of their awards’ recipients in a series of YouTube videos (see links below, or visit their channel here). The story of Hilary Horlock from PHSA is just one of the profiles worth watching.
Presented by the Health Employers Association of BC (HEABC), the awards celebrate successes in our province’s health care community. Awards are for projects that have improved health care delivery in BC and for individuals who inspire those around them.
Award categories recognize innovative health models, workplace health initiatives, collaborative problem-solving and outstanding individual achievements. Credit goes to the Award’s many sponsors for their support of this memorable event.
